Background
I have always enjoyed singing. As a young girl, I would sing along to songs in the car, compete in eisteddfods and perform in school productions. I went on to pursue 8thgrade singing qualification in my hometown of Toowoomba. Along with my interest in singing, I enjoy working with children, so completed my Diploma of Children’s Services and subsequently worked for 4 years as a lead educator in early childhood centres in Toowoomba, Mackay and Brisbane.
What attracted you to invest in a Making Rainbows franchise?
I loved my time working with young children in a childcare setting, but missed the music. When the opportunity opened for a teaching job for Making Rainbows in Brisbane, it seemed a perfect job for me because it combined both my interests – music and working with young children. I worked as a teacher for Making Rainbows for almost 2 years, and observed first hand the profound impact the program has on parents, children and the community. It is such an incredible program! I realised that I wanted to pursue this as a career. So investing in a franchise, and bringing it back to my hometown in Toowoomba,was a natural step. I now have the opportunity to be my own boss and invest in what I’m passionate about. Best of both worlds!
Making Rainbows is passionate about child development and early learning, and that is something I also believe in strongly. The early years have a profound impact on a child’s development. I would love for every baby and toddler in Toowoomba to have the opportunity to participate in Making Rainbows, which is why I brought it to my hometown. It is important for me to make strong relationships with families in my community and give back. I get to sing, and teach, and play with children every day — it really is such a fun and rewarding job!
